Volunteer Day at Schulte Garden
A Disconnect Madison community event in partnership with Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens
What if the most meaningful thing you did this week happened in a field, with dirt on your hands, unbothered by the demands of the digital world?
Join Disconnect Madison for an afternoon of giving and connection Emmett Schulte Garden, a community garden in Verona operated as part of the Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens (MAFPG) network. Everything grown here goes directly to the Catholic Multicultural Center in Madison, where it's distributed through their food pantry and free daily meal program. MAFPG has grown and donated over 2 million pounds of produce since 2000, and they rely on people like you to keep that going.
We'll meet as a group and spend a few hours working in the garden together, weeding, planting, harvesting, or whatever the season calls for!
What to bring: Clothes you can get dirty, closed-toed shoes, water bottle, sunscreen
No experience needed. MAFPG staff will be on-site to guide and assist us
